Children in Care
The teacher who is 'Designated Teacher' and is responsible for chidlren in care is Mrs Kathryn Harvey.
Staff employed in the school act as 'the corporate parent' for children in care. Our overarching principle for corporate parents is that the provision we make must be at least as good as we would expect for our own children. Provision includes not only teaching but also any additional resources and equipment enjoyed, opportunities to participate in clubs and extra-curricular activities.
What every good parent wants for their child: to achieve as well as they can and aspire to the best they can be. Children in the care of the Local Authority are overseen by the Virtual School for Cheshire West and Chester. In our Local Authority, the Pupil Premium for looked after children is retained by the Virtual School and schools must bid, through the child's personal education plan (PEP) for funding to be released to the school. The PEP is a termly document outlining support given and additional monies spent.
