Le blog français Y2

Bonjour à tous!

We have had a fun time in French the past few weeks learning about 'les dinosaures' to tie in with the Y2's mini topic. We have learnt how to say le dinosaure, le tyrannosaure, le stégasaure and l'appatosaure and to sing a song called 'Comment ça va le dinosaure?' They have labelled their own dinosaur booklets in french which means not only have they started to speak and listen to French but they are now beginning to read French too.We also learnt how french children celebrate Epihanny or 'La Fête des rois' including singing and dancing to traditional songs.

Since September the children have grown in confidence in their language learning and all really enjoy our sessions and are keen to 'have a go'. We have focused on key greeetings, numbers to 10 and colours and have learnt many  songs, finger rhymes and games. Their favourite is definitely 'Cache, cache' ( Hide and Seek) with Trottine ( la souris) and Minou ( le chat).

I am really looking forward to seeing how the children get on with learning Spanish for the day on Friday 3rd February on our European Langages Day. Adios!
